Shearer Back at St James' Park

Former Newcastle United and England number nine, Alan Shearer, returns to his old stomping ground next month as Newcastle Legends present ‘An Evening with Alan Shearer.’

Recently managing a Newcastle Legends side, scoring the opening goal in a 2-2 draw at Kingston Park against a Manchester Select, Shearer returns to St James Park on November 18 where he’ll talk about his career in black & white, and all white, for club and country.

His was a career that would see him score thirty times for his country, and become Newcastle United’s all-time leading scorer with 206 goals as well as being the Premier League’s all-time leading scorer and for Newcastle Legends Managing Director, Steve Wraith, the opportunity to work alongside the national icon is an opportunity too good to pass up.

He said: “Having worked with someone of Alan’s calibre in recent times, notably at the recent Entertainers Game where we saw him score what will prove to be his last goal in a Newcastle shirt, it felt only  right that we would look at doing something like this.

“It is not only an opportunity for Alan to be back at the football club he served so well, but for the fans to be up close with a Geordie icon at the ground he, and they, love so much.

“He (Shearer) did so much for the football club and the fans still appreciate, even adore him, for all that he did, so this is for them.”

‘An Evening with Alan Shearer’ takes place at the Nine Bar, St James Park, Newcastle on November 18 with tickets available for www.newcastlegends.com priced at £99 VIP, doors opening at 7pm.
