The food bank collection point will again be in position on Strawberry Place opposite Nine Bar on Saturday from 1pm until just before kick off at 3pm.

If you are looking for inspiration, the Newcastle West End Foodbank warehouse team have advised us that they are particularly short of cereals, tinned meat and fish, tinned tomatoes and cooking sauces suitable for use with pasta.

if every one of the 52,000 fans attending St James’ Park on match-day brings just one tin or packet of food to the NUFC Foodbank collection point on Saturday, the donations would amount to nearly 20 tomes of produce.

Following the success of last Saturday’s collection prior to the Derby County game, where over 3 tonnes of food was donated, and knowing that the donations were so gratefully received by all who have benefitted, we realise that so many people on Tyneside rely at times of need on the support of the food banks throughout the North East.
 
With this in mind and together with our supporters group partners and the Newcastle West End Food bank we plan to reprise the collection point on Strawberry Place on as many Saturday/Sunday match days as possible for the remainder of the season, starting with the Bristol City fixture on 25th February 2017.

Further details will follow regarding any specific requirements that can be fulfilled with regards to donations. In the meantime, please help us get the message out at your workplace, college or school, to your friends, family, work colleagues, social media followers and your next door neighbours!

Alongside  Newcastle United Supporters Trust (NUST) we are working with Newcastle West End Foodbank on an initiative, entitled 'Newcastle United Supporters Foodbank'. This will see a collection area set up opposite Nine Bar on match days where supporters who are coming to the game can leave donations for the foodbank. The initiative kicks off this Saturday and the drop off point will be manned from 1pm until just before kick off.
