Match Day Safety and Security

26/5/2017

Following the recent atrocity in Manchester, many Newcastle United supporters have asked about security measures at St James’ Park with concern particularly voiced about the congestion pinch points around Strawberry Place.

The Club’s Fans Forum have commenced a dialogue with the club in the hope that concerns can be addressed, along with reassurances regarding safety and security for the 2017/18 season.

Forum members are also planning to raise supporters’ safety concerns with Newcastle City council who hold responsibility for traffic management.

Chuks McPeake's Recovery On Track

11/5/2017

When 6 year old Chuks McPeake was knocked down on Newcastle Quayside it looked as though his chance  to watch Newcastle United was over for the season but thanks to a rapid recovery and the support of Newcastle United’s Supporters Liaison officer Lee Marshall, Chuks was able to fulfil his wish with added joy after the club made him one of the mascots for the final game of the Season. against Barnsley at St James’ Park. Chuk’s mam and dad Anene and Greg McPeake and his sister Adannaya watched Chuks warm up with his favourite player Deandre Yedlin and have kindly placed their own video on Youtube so we can all see how well Chuks has recovered after fracturing his skull only 4 weeks ago.

Dad Greg said it was a dream come true not only for Chuks but also for him, a lad from Kingston Park but now living in London where he is a teacher, watching his son run out and warm up on the hallowed turf of St James’ Park. The day was a fantastic experience for everyone and the hospitality laid on by the club for the family was the icing on the cake on a day that will long live in their memory.
