"Good morning Dawn and Family
My name is Stuart Cameron, I was 6 years old when I saw your father scoring the winning goal for the Albion against Everton at Wembley.
It was my first Wembley Cup final I can remember watching on TV. And it was that game I got the bug for football, from that day on, I became a huge fan of Newcastle (born and bred there), however when the Albion came to Town, dad used to take me, not because I wanted to watch Newcastle, but because I wanted to see this man who scored the first goal I can remember at Wembley. I remember being on dad's shoulders just watching this no9 for Albion and saying to dad, "thats Jeff Astle who scored the goal at Wembley'', "I know", he kept saying. Hahahaha, great times. So thays my little story of your father, it's his fault I became a huge football fan. I will be there amongst the 4,000 Geordies cheering for my team, however, in the ninth minute my mind will only be in one place, and that will be Wembley Stadium 1968 when your father hit such a sweet left footer to win the cup. On Sunday you will feel the real warmth of the NUFC supporters. And I will no doubt be thinking, if it wasn't for your dad, I probably wouldnt be there.
Best wishes for the future
A NUFC and Jeff Astle Fan
Stuart."
