The draw for the third round of the carabao Cup has presented Newcastle Utd with a home tie against Manchester City.
The game will be played in the week commencing 25th September and its outcome will be decided on the night via penalties if the two sides are level after 90 minutes
This will be the fifth time the clubs have met in one of the many iterations of what was originally referred to as the League Cup, with the sides meeting in the final in 1976 when City ran out 2:1 winners.
