Following a recent meeting between supporters groups from both clubs, it was unanimously agreed that the forthcoming Tyne and Wear Derby should be seen by all as "a Derby to be proud of" and one that draws on all positives that our rivalry has to offer and build on the wonderful gestures of compassion and solidarity displayed following the tragedy of MH17 and its aftermath. We as a fans group fully endorse this initiative and welcome the fact that rival groups from both clubs are working together alongside the FSF to make this happen.
As a prelude to the game an event has been arranged where fans from both sides will come together to look at ways for fans to indeed make the fixture A Derby To Be Proud Of. It will also show the local media what fans are doing to combat unacceptable behaviour – further details can be found here
