With the help of Tyneside’s Premier events company Newcastle Legends; we are supporting the NUFC Fans Food Bank initiative on Monday 9th October 2017 with a fundraising talk in at Nine Sports Bar, featuring former Newcastle United midfielder Gavin Peacock.
Having joined Newcastle United from Bournemouth in 1990 Gavin made 105 appearances for the club, scoring 35 goals in all competitions. His 16 goals in the 1991/92 Season saw him finish the season as the clubs top scorer and he followed that up with a further 12 goals in the promotion season of 1992/93 in a season that was somewhat stifled by injury.

The NUFC Fans Food Bank Initiative has a collection point on Strawberry Place on match days as well as a permanent donation station in the city’s Grainger Market where donations of food and other produce are accepted and from where all donations are handed over to the Newcastle West End Food Bank, the largest and most in demand food bank of its kind in the country; supporting over 1,000 people per week who require it’s help and assistance. The initiative is backed by Newcastle United and has won the praise and support of Rafa Benitez and members of the first team squad.
