Leazes Calling
Calls for boycott wont rest easy with some, but we all know that something needs to be done. If it takes a boycott to get the message of a need for change in how the club is ran and by whom, then so be it. As supporters we need to show support and solidarity with any individual or group that feels so strongly that they will give up the chance to enter St James’ Park to watch the black and white shirts that they are devoted to in order to participate in a peaceful protest.
The debate on whether to go to the game or boycott will no doubt continue right up to kick off time and for some, the lure of match day attendance will be hard to break. As supporters we are all equal and our opinions must be equally respected. What matters most however, is that we all remember that we supporters will be there long after Mike Ashley has gone.
We need to stick together as fans but also respect each other’s personal decisions on Sunday. Whether it is St James’ Park or Leazes Park, it’s your choice. Just don’t hurt the ducks; or the duck eggs!!
